48th Edition Of WSOP To Start On May 30th

Las Vegas is gearing up for the 48th annual World Series of Poker event.


It is set to start on 30th May. This year’s edition will be held over 49 days and there are as many as 74 WSOP gold bracelet events to be held during this period. The events will be held over a wide range of poker formats. The players and the organizers are looking forward to a wonderful season of the WSOP event this year too.

The main event of the World Series of Poker will commence on the 8th of July. The tournament organizers are looking for about 7,000 players to pay up the entry fee of $10,000 for the event. They are looking to make this one of the biggest prize pools and the richest prize in sport.

The WSOP commented that there is something on offer for every player that pays up for the event. The tournament includes cash games, satellites, gold bracelets and deep stack events that will take place for all the 49 days continuously. The main event will be held on 17th July 2017 where the final 9 players will get a chance to compete for the biggest prize pool money. A total of 500 poker tables are likely to be set up across 100,000 square feet of space to accommodate all the players from all over the world. This is a sporting extravaganza that is looked forward to by all poker players and poker enthusiasts’ every year. It only gets bigger and better every year.

The main change taking place in the WSOP event this year is that the main event will be played as the finish in July. The last editions of the WSOP saw the final and the main event to extend until November to suit TV broadcasts. This is welcomed by the poker community with both hands.
